My job involves a lot of eating out. A lot.
I am spoilt for choice in this wonderful city, and normally (being the host) I decide the venue. It is however, always exciting when somebody recommends a new restaurant.
Iberica was the venue for today’s lunch.
It was magnificent: not so much because they had done something different, but more because they stuck to a traditional menu and just did it very well.
Meats/hams were top quality, but highlights were the Fabada (beans with various bits of pig), chorizo lollypops w/ pear aioli and the most sublime ham croquettes.
But hold the phone. There’s more: I contacted them via Twitter yesterday (@IbericaLondon) asking them for recommendations for lunch today. They responded. When we arrived we were treated to a complimentary glass of Cava, the manager came over and introduced herself to the table 5 minutes into lunch, and at the end of lunch a glass of hazelnut liqueur for us (also on the house).
Now that, in my book is how a restaurant should use Social Media. I am a complete convert and shall be singing Iberica’s praises for some time to come…
